Our History

The mission of the Christian School of Kingwood is to provide a Christ-centered environment that is committed to academic and spiritual excellence.

Christian School of Kingwood began operation with a Mother’s Day Out program in 1981.  Preschool for 3’s and 4’s was added in the Fall of l983.  The Elementary School began with Kindergarten in 1984; First Grade was added in the Fall of 1985; Second Grade in the Fall of 1986; and Third Grade in the Fall of 1987.  Fourth Grade was added in the Fall of 1988 and Fifth Grade in the Fall of 1989.  Sixth Grade was added in the Fall of 1992.  Seventh Grade was added in the Fall of 2007 and Eighth Grade was added in the Fall of 2008.

Christian School of Kingwood admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.  It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies and admission policies.

The school is located in the Kingwood Church of Christ.  The Board of Trustees of the school is composed of members of the Kingwood Church of Christ; however, the school is not operated by the church.

The Christian School of Kingwood offers a nurturing, learning environment where children can build a solid foundation for life through a Christ-centered education. At CSK, every child is given the opportunity to develop self-confidence and integrity as they grow in body, mind and spirit.

Our primary emphasis is on the classroom: a “supernatural” teacher, a challenging curriculum, and a carefully designed sequence of courses. Our small classes both motivate and support student learning. Exploration, discovery and mastery of material are as important in preschool and kindergarten as they are in middle school.

We encourage our students to be curious and desire to learn more outside the classroom as well as inside. Our young people are taught to lead in various circumstances, such as Chapel, Musicals, and work in the community. The older students provide the best of examples in responsibility, respect, and caring for the younger children as they mentor them.

Christian School of Kingwood is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS/CASI) and the National Christian Schools Association (NCSA). CSK is recognized by the Texas Education Association (TEA).

Our Mothers’ Day Out program is licensed by the Texas Department of Protective Regulatory Services.

Educational Goals

Christian School of Kingwood provides each child with an understanding of himself in relation to God and His Word. Our goal is to meet the academic, spiritual, physical and social needs of each student as he/she lives a life that will please and glorify God. CSK will achieve this end by declaring the following objectives as our educational goals:

  • To teach the Bible, the Word of God, as the ultimate authority to guide our students in all areas of living.
  • To nurture a deep and abiding faith in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and the Bible as His Word.
  • To provide a comprehensive program of Bible instruction, emphasizing application and the discernment of truth.
  • To encourage good citizenship based on a genuine love and respect for our country and the ideals on which it was founded.
  • To cultivate a healthy self-esteem and respect for the rights and needs of others while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • To instill the desire to build strong family units.
  • To promote academic excellence in reading, language, mathematics, social studies, science, health and spiritual growth.
  • To provide an appreciation for the aesthetics through the Arts.
  • To provide instruction and training in how to study, how to discover, how to locate information and how to solve problems using available resources and technology.
  • To develop habits of self-discipline, and assume responsibility for their own actions.
  • To promote respect for cultural diversity as each student maintains an appreciation for his/her unique heritage.
  • To encourage the proper care and development of the body.

With God's help, these educational goals will be achieved through prayer, the example of daily Christian living by the staff, the implementation of a Christ-centered curriculum, and systematic parental involvement in the educational process. We will strive in every way possible to relate Biblical principles relevant to the students' lives now as well as in the future.
